Upon arrival, you will be warmly greeted by our driver and transferred to Shillong, known as the 'Scotland of the East.' Nestled in the heart of a plateau and surrounded by the scenic Khasi Hills, Shillong offers a picturesque introduction to your journey. En route, enjoy a stop at Umium Lake, also known as Barapani, a popular spot for locals due to its adventure water sports. In the evening, you can explore the vibrant Police Bazaar.

Umium Lake, the largest artificial lake in the state, is encircled by lush green Khasi pines and the vast, clear blue skies. It was formed by the Umiam Hydro Electric Project and is a hub for water sports activities like row-boating, paddle-boating, cruises, sailing, and speed boating. This area is a favorite destination for picnics, fishing, and water sports, managed by the Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC).
Your sightseeing tour will cover the following points of interest Elephant Falls ,Mawkdok Dympep Valley View ,Wah Kaba Falls ,Wei Sawdong Falls , Dainthlen Falls ,Nohsngithiang Falls (Seven Sisters Falls), Nohkalikai Waterfalls – the tallest plunge waterfall in India ,Mawsmai Cave – known for its limestone formations ,Arwah Cave – famous for its ancient fossils and limestone structures After a day of exploring Cherrapunjee's natural wonders, return to your hotel in Shillong for an overnight stay.Cherrapunjee offers a longer stay for those looking to explore more, with its limestone caves, breathtaking living root bridges, and various water and adventure activities. The highlight of your tour includes the magnificent Seven Sisters Falls and the fascinating Mawsmai Cave.
After breakfast, set out for an excursion to Dawki, which includes a visit to the Indo-Bangladesh border at Tamabil and the beautiful Umngot River. On the way, you’ll stop at Mawlynnong, often celebrated as the cleanest village in India. Your sightseeing will include: Umngot River – known for its crystal-clear waters , Indo-Bangladesh Friendship Border ,Balancing Rock – a natural marvel ,Riwai Root Bridge – a unique living bridge, Mawlynnong Village – a model of cleanliness and sustainabilityYou may also opt for a boat ride on the Umngot River (on direct payment basis).Mawlynnong, located 90 km from Shillong and 30 km from Pynursla, is home to around 75 households and a population of 400. The village is known for its impeccable cleanliness, paved walkways, vibrant flowerbeds, and stunning views of the distant plains of Bangladesh. With a literacy rate of 90% and a commendable no-dropout record in its primary school, Mawlynnong sets a standard for other villages. The community engages in farming betel nuts, broomsticks, and pepper, as well as beekeeping, contributing to its local economy.
After breakfast, depart for Guwahati. If time permits, visit the renowned Maa Kamakhya Temple, an important pilgrimage site dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya. After your visit, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey. Safe travels
