After breakfast, set out for an excursion to Dawki, which includes a visit to the Indo-Bangladesh border at Tamabil and the beautiful Umngot River. On the way, you’ll stop at Mawlynnong, often celebrated as the cleanest village in India. Your sightseeing will include: Umngot River – known for its crystal-clear waters , Indo-Bangladesh Friendship Border ,Balancing Rock – a natural marvel ,Riwai Root Bridge – a unique living bridge, Mawlynnong Village – a model of cleanliness and sustainabilityYou may also opt for a boat ride on the Umngot River (on direct payment basis).Mawlynnong, located 90 km from Shillong and 30 km from Pynursla, is home to around 75 households and a population of 400. The village is known for its impeccable cleanliness, paved walkways, vibrant flowerbeds, and stunning views of the distant plains of Bangladesh. With a literacy rate of 90% and a commendable no-dropout record in its primary school, Mawlynnong sets a standard for other villages. The community engages in farming betel nuts, broomsticks, and pepper, as well as beekeeping, contributing to its local economy.
After breakfast, depart for Guwahati. If time permits, visit the renowned Maa Kamakhya Temple, an important pilgrimage site dedicated to the goddess Kamakhya. After your visit, you will be transferred to the airport for your onward journey. Safe travels
